Two years ago world leaders were given a huge global mandate
to make poverty history. But they are not acting urgently enough.
In 2007 campaigners are uniting again to tell leaders the world
can’t wait for action.
5,000 children die every day from drinking dirty water
a woman dies in childbirth every minute
more than 5 million people living with HIV and AIDS still do not
have access to drugs
global warming puts us all in peril – and poor countries will be
hit first and hardest
In June, the UK Prime Minister will speak in our name at summits of
European and G8 governments. Ensure he sets off with your message
ringing in his ears.
Wear white and bring your alarm clock, phone alarms
and your voices against poverty to the banks of the River Thames
in London on 2 June. Make sure our Prime Minister
knows the world can’t wait.
The world can’t wait for:
debt cancellation and more and better aid
trade justice
healthcare, education, water and sanitation for all
firm plans to prevent catastrophic climate change
and to address its impact
